As a Housekeeper for the MVH-Bemidji, you will perform housekeeping and maintenance activities to ensure a clean, comfortable, healthy, and safe environment for our residents, staff and others, in accordance with established standards, guidelines, and applicable state and federal laws, rules, and policies.
The position is designated as part-time and primarily evening shift, including some weekends. The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per 2-week pay period and may include additional work hours, based on business needs. The position is initially eligible for a full employer contribution towards health and dental insurance benefits.
Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:
• Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment
• Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely
• Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to operate and use them effectively and make minor repairs
Ability to:
• Use hand tools and handle fairly light materials manually
• Perform work functions using ladders and scaffolding
• Perform laundry functions
• Function in adverse weather conditions
• Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction
• Make minor mechanical repairs to maintenance equipment
• Operate simple maintenance equipment
• Follow instructions, read and understand operational manuals, and keep simple records
Preferred Qualifications
One year of floor care experience, including stripping, waxing and working with floor equipment.
Additional Requirements
• A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position. When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
• A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
• Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
