Hunt Electric Corporation Site Safety Representative in Bloomington, Minnesota

Join our team as a Site Safety Representative responsible for monitoring workplace activities and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures at electrical construction jobsites in the greater Twin Cities Area. You'll facilitate daily safety meetings, conduct toolbox talks, and deliver comprehensive safety trainings while ensuring workers' adherence to safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment. - Attend daily safety meetings and pre-job briefings. - Attend bi-weekly toolbox talks on specific safety topics. - Conduct safety trainings and orientations. - File all required documentation regarding the scope of the project. - Educate workers about the company s safety policy and procedures. - Identify and mitigate potential hazards. - Ensure workers are wearing the proper PPE. - Assist in developing and implementing safety and loss prevention programs. - Monitor safety performance of on-site workers to determine vulnerability. - Identify and remove unsafe or hazardous materials from job sites prior to each shift when necessary. - Inspect workplace and premises at beginning of each day to make sure it is safe for operation. - Perform inspection on machinery, equipment and tools that workers will use to ensure they are safe to operate. - Inspect safety of ladders and scaffolding. - Ensure workers are tied off and secure from fall hazards when they are working at a height greater than 6 feet. - Perform accident investigations to identify measures that need to be taken to prevent them from reoccurring. - Write detailed reports on daily activities, inspections and on-site accidents. - Conduct safety audits on a periodic basis. - Ensure storage of hazardous materials and dangerous equipment in specially designated storage areas. - Communicate essential safety standards to workers during each walkthrough stage. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS - Bachelors or master s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management or related field. - 3 years of construction safety experience, electrical industry preferred. - Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the safety industry. - Demonstrates industry knowledge and independent judgment to make decisions. - Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to communicate with individuals with a variety of backgrounds.
