Public Buildings Service Deputy Assistant Commissioner in District of Columbia, District Of Columbia

Summary As a Deputy Assistant Commissioner, you will responsible for managing a real estate portfolio to meet customer agency housing needs. Location of position: Public Buildings Service (PBS), Office of Portfolio Management and Customer Engagement, Washington, D.C. We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL JUNE 7, 2024. Responsible for providing national leadership and oversight, strategic planning and direction, program guidance, and policy direction to ensure consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness in the areas of managing and optimizing the financial performance of the portfolio of leased and owned assets while meeting owner objectives and customer expectations and needs throughout the life cycle of the asset. Ensures consistency, quality, and cost effectiveness in the areas of real estate portfolio management, asset management and valuation, capital allocation, and portfolio analysis to ultimately deliver the best value to customer agencies and the taxpayer. Develops national strategies to meet our customer needs that optimize the utilization and performance of our real property portfolio by executing sound investment, operational and divestment decisions through real estate expertise and customer intelligence. Provides direction in the evaluation of program need and workload assessments and the development of appropriate resource strategies to ensure successful program execution. Represents the Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Portfolio Management and Customer Engagement, and the PBS Commissioner, when required, before committees of Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, and officials of other departments of government, industry, and the general public. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing innovative real estate solutions that maximize the taxpayer's dollars while delivering excellent customer service to our tenant agencies. Developing and implementing national real estate strategies to: Support the missions of our customers, Support social and economic programs of the Federal Government, Optimize the performance of real property assets, and Practice sound financial management.
