St. Luke's University Health Network Environmental Services Floor Care Technician in Easton, Pennsylvania

The Environmental Services Aide Floor Buffer provides the floor maintenance on various types of tiled, carpeted, terrazzo, and wood floor surfaces, stairs and stairwell landings. The duties listed are representative only for job classification and the specific duties of any one position may vary depending on work assignment and the needs of the facility.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information.

    1. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  2. Demonstrates/models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).

    1. Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety.

    2. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.

    3. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance and dress code.

    4. Demonstrates proper use of floor care equipment and chemicals.

    5. Maintains edges and corners of floors, stairs and stairwell landings on a regular basis.

    6. Performs project work, extraction, stripping, scrubbing finishing of hardwood floors.

    7. Maintain equipment in a clean and safe condition.

    8. Attends 85% of Environmental Services Monthly Staff meetings annually.

    9. Completes annual employee TB testing within specified time.

    10. Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICIAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Standing up to eight hours a day, two to four hours at a time. Walking up to eight hours a day, two to four hours at a time. Fingering and handling frequently. Twisting and turning of hands occasionally. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent carrying up to 25 lbs. Occasionally up to 50 lbs. Frequently pushing and pulling up to 75 lbs., occasionally exceeding 100 lbs. Occasionally stoops, bends, squats, kneels and reaches above shoulder level. Rarely climbs ladder up to 10 feet. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation seeing as it relates to general and near vision.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Three to six months experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting. Three to six months experience in floor maintenance.
