Description

Forest Electric NJ is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support the company in meeting its objectives and goals. Perform take-off and pricing for various projects types and sizes to acquire new work. Work on assigned commercial electrical construction projects at various locations within New Jersey and assist with appropriate actions to ensure projects are progressing and completed on time, within budget and with defined resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned:

• Collaborate with Senior Project Managers to understand the fundamental knowledge and processes of effective project management.

• Partner with Project Managers and/or Estimators to ensure a complete scope of work is defined and pricing review.

• Develop to become competent with reviewing drawings and specifications and preparing detailed estimates, including assigning material and labor values to take-off.

• Become competent with preparing project schedules, change orders, and BEC & fire alarm filings.

• Assist with acquiring vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and systems.

• Assist with material buyouts and releases.

• Become competent with preparing a complete scope of work, project schedules, change orders, and BEC & fire alarm filings.

• Prepare, maintain and present computer generated spreadsheets, logs and reports.

• Prepare and manage communications internally and with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects.

• Monitor project budgets and labor costs.

• Assist with material buyouts and releases.

• Maintain regular communication and collaboration with Estimators, Project Managers and Engineers.

• Prepare documents for billing purposes and coordinate with accounting personnel.

• Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.

• Travel to various project sites as required, and attend project walk-through meetings for bidding purposes and job tracking.

• Regular, predictable and reliable onsite attendance is an essential function of the position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• Formal education in electrical engineering or Construction Management or related field a plus.

• Direct experience with Microsoft Office applications.

• Work knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit a plus.

• Working knowledge of scheduling software such as Primavera or Microsoft Project a plus.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk and or stand for extended periods of time and is required to frequently climb stairs throughout the work day. The position also requires occasional lifting and transporting of light to moderate objects. Project sites are OSHA complaint projects and all team members are required to wear appropriate PPE. PPE equipment and supplies will be provided by the Company to the employee. OSHA training shall apply.
