Job Description:

The proposed position is based in R&D, CMC Development supporting activities in the Data Science group. The 5-month placement will have a direct focus on data analysis, machine learning, modeling, and data visualization supporting the main functions in the Cell Culture Development within CMC Development.

The objective of this placement is to evaluate the performance of various data-driven, mechanistic, and hybrid modeling methodologies for modeling mammalian cell culture expressing recombinant products.

This would include (1) developing, from publicly-available or internal data, a plausible model of mammalian cell culture expressing recombinant products, (2) using said model to generate synthetic data across varying experimental conditions, and (3) using this data to evaluate empirical and physics-informed hybrid models for accuracy under a data-limited settings.

This position requires knowledge in modeling & simulation, data analysis, and numerical computing on platforms such as Python, MATLAB, or R.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Working towards a scientific, engineering, computer science, or data science graduate degree (Master/PhD) with a good understanding and interest in machine learning methodologies

  • Experience in process modeling or ability to develop numerical simulations in Python, MATLAB, R or similar

  • An ability to work as part of a team, engaging other scientists with complementary skill sets in the field of biologics development

  • A change agent mentality, proposing novel approach to challenging scientific questions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A scientific foundation in biology or life science

  • Knowledge of multivariate data analysis

  • Machine Learning knowledge

Additional Comment:

The position will be based in Framingham on the Sanofi campus. A free Shuttle service is available from downtown Boston
