Eaton Corporation Custodian - 2nd Shift in Orchard Park, New York

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Custodian - 2nd Shift. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility.

The Custodian is responsible for performing general cleaning functions within the office and production areas. Ensures safe work environment and conditions are maintained.

Core hours: 2:30pm - 11:30pm

The starting hourly rate for this position is $21.00 + $1.00/hour shift differential

What you’ll do:

Summary :

Responsible for performing general cleaning functions within the office and production areas. Ensures safe work environment and conditions are maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:.

  • General cleaning of the cafeteria and manufacturing areas of the facility according to Standard Work documents. Including, but not limited to:

  • Cleaning of aisles with Doodle duster and/or floor machine

  • Collection and transfer of garbage and recycling to compactor and outside collection areas

  • Routine disinfecting of areas with common touch points

  • Cleaning the floors in and around manufacturing cells using mops/vacuums/Doodle dusters/floor machines as required.

  • Routine cleaning of cafeteria tables, chairs, and floors.

  • Must become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements

  • Report any facility discrepancies; such as leaking faucets, broken pipes, cracks in walls or glass, etc.

  • Occasional snow shoveling and salting of walkways to and from the facility

  • Proper ordering and stocking of paper and chemical products

  • Moderate physical efforts ranging from continuously moving lightweight material (less than 5 lbs.) to occasionally moving heavyweight material (up to and including 50 lbs.)

  • Comply with work policies

  • Identify improvement opportunities

  • Responsible for ensuring that Environmental, Health, and Safety are included as part of everyday activities

Qualifications:

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • 1-2 years of professional cleaning work experience

Preferred

  • Organizational and communication skills

  • Familiarity with stripping and waxing floors

  • Ability to work independently

  • Familiarity with floor machine and carpet extractor use

  • Cleaning Manufacturing facility to Class 100 000 specifications

  • Awareness of areas with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) compliance

  • Maintain metrics of waste and recyclables

  • Ability to conduct precision cleaning per checklist for each area of the facility
