Summary This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Eastern Nevada Agency in Owyhee, Nevada. This position serves in full range duites normally requires in the maintenance of a facility management section. NOTE: RECRUITMENT OR RELOCATION INCENTIVE MAY BE AUTHORIZED FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED APPLICANTS. SERVICE AGREEMENT WILL BE REQUIRED. Responsibilities Work experience performing laborer tasks such as cleaning and removing debris, cut and remove trees; landscaping (i.e., mowing, edging, irrigation, trimming shrubs and trees, raking leaves); hand and shovel work; painting or varnishing; washing, waxing, or cleaning motor vehicles; and lifting or moving of heavy objects. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications The vacancy for this position is OPEN UNTIL FILLED and may be extended or closed prior to the current closing date. To qualify for Laborer WG-3502-3: Must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Examples of qualifying experience include: work experience performing laborer tasks such as cleaning and removing debris, cut and remove trees; landscaping (i.e., mowing, edging, irrigation, trimming shrubs and trees, raking leaves); hand and shovel work; painting or varnishing; washing, waxing, or cleaning motor vehicles; and lifting or moving of heavy objects; AND -Possess a valid, state driver's license. The position requires average or above average strength, agility, and muscular endurance to perform assigned duties. Frequently carries, lifts, and supports items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally objects weighing approximately 100 pounds. Must exert effort in moving and controlling powered and non-powered equipment. Job requires walking, standing, climbing, frequent stretching, and bending. WORKING CONDITIONS: Requires mostly outside work in all kinds of weather, on all kinds of terrain and with footing conditions from dry and solid to wet, deep mud, ice, snow, and around keep water. Breathing conditions are generally good, but temperatures vary from sub-zero to maximum summer heat. Strict adherence to safety regulations must be observed during performance of all duties to avoid serious injury. Incumbent is exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, shocks, scrapes and burns. The laborer is subject to excessive noise, vibration, dust, dirt and fumes from gasoline and diesel exhausts. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date. Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act of 1934 (title 25, USC Section 472).
