Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies being advertised through the Direct-Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce. Responsibilities Advise and assist in the use of highly specialized CAD and BIM computer software, and Autodesk products used in the performance of the design of military facilities, civil works, and environmental projects. Formulate and present findings, briefings, and status reports for the understanding of issues related to utilizing CAD and creation of BIMs and make recommendations to management. Prepare range of simple, standard to complex, unique sketches and drawings, using District CAD and BIM software. Serves as CAD and BIM coordinator for project design teams and performs CAD and BIM related systems administrator functions on servers, workstations and PCs. Works with various design disciplines in the finalization of CAD plans and BIMs for assigned projects. Prepare, revise, plan and lead implementation of local adaptation of agency CAD and graphic standards and procedures for the District. Develop training plans and schedules to meet the needs of engineers and technicians throughout the Division and District. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel in DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Lower grades will be developmental and their work will be more closely supervised and managed. More complex work will be assigned as experience is gained. Specialized Experience: For the GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes one (1) or more of the following; (1) assisting with engineering duties in support of design and construction activities, (2) providing administrative and technical support as related to CAD and BIM, (3) reviewing drawings, plans, and specifications for compliance with standards for CAD and BIM, (4) assisting with preparation of government contracts to specify CAD and BIM standards, (5) preparing a variety of documents and recurring reports, (6) applying regulations, policies and procedures related to design and construction drawing preparation utilizing CAD and/or BIM, and (7) using routine procedures to produce contract drawings using automated systems such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or Bentley MicroStation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). For the GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes two (2) or more of the following; (1) assisting with engineering duties in support of design and construction activities, (2) providing administrative and technical support as related to CAD and BIM, (3) reviewing drawings, plans, and specifications for compliance with standards for CAD and BIM, (4) assisting with preparation of government contracts to specify CAD and BIM standards, (5) preparing a variety of documents and recurring reports, (6) applying regulations, policies and procedures related to design and construction drawing preparation utilizing CAD and/or BIM, and (7) using routine procedures to produce contract drawings using automated systems such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or Bentley MicroStation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). For the GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes six (6) or more of the following; (1) assisting with engineering duties in support of design and construction activities, (2) providing administrative and technical support as related to CAD and BIM, (3) reviewing drawings, plans, and specifications for compliance with standards for CAD and BIM, (4) assisting with preparation of government contracts to specify CAD and BIM standards, (5) preparing a variety of documents and recurring reports, (6) applying regulations, policies and procedures related to design and construction drawing preparation utilizing CAD and/or BIM, and (7) developing routine procedures and standards for others to produce contract drawings using automated systems such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or Bentley MicroStation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Parking is available for a daily, weekly, or monthly fee in the vicinity of the Philadelphia District office building, at employee's expense. However, most employees commute through public transportation or high-speed rail. The Army currently provides up to $300 per month for mass transit subsistence.
