Naval Sea Systems Command SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in Port Hueneme, California

Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY TECHNICIAN in the Small Combatants Test and Evaluation Branch (C43) of the Test and Evaluation Management Division (C40) of the Combat Systems Test and Evaluation Department (C00) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, Port Hueneme, California. Responsibilities You will serve as first level supervisor of the Small Combatants Test and Evaluation branch personnel, providing technical and administrative management of engineers, technicians, and product support personnel, You will provide oversight and direction of In-Service Engineering and fleet support functions (distance and on-site support), modernization, systems engineering, cyber security, and Test and Evaluation for weapon/combat missile systems, You will support tasks dealing with hardware engineering, software engineering, cyber security, systems Operations and Maintenance and safety, You will coordinate across PHD work groups and other organizations to accomplish and successfully execute CSSQT and LCS Test and evaluation goals and objectives, You will interface technically with sponsors and maintain continuous liaison with existing and potential Program Sponsors to define support requirements, obtain new business and make sponsors aware of NSWC PHD test and evaluation expertise, You will perform project management for branch test projects and tasks, developing POAMs, BOEs, assessing, tracking, and monitoring progress and risks, You will apply your expertise with Test and Evaluation and Combat Systems to lead and manage branch personnel to accomplish the quantity and quality of work expected within set limits of cost and time, You will communicate issues to sponsors and the PHD Chain of Command, You will identify requirements, estimate costs, develop and negotiate Work Breakdown Structure and Task Planning Sheets, while managing, monitoring, and tracking funding, You will investigate combat system and test and evaluation issues, concerns, and problems, working to resolve as required, You will develop white papers and recommendations for test program improvements, You will actively participate in Command initiative teams and lead compliant execution of policy, strategy, and tasking to realize the required results to meet the Command vision and mission. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) or grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying electronic theory or engineering principles to providing technical expertise and leadership for technical efforts associated with test and evaluation or modernization of afloat naval combat weapons systems. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
