Department Information

Enrollment Management includes five divisions: Admissions, Student Financial Services,

Registrar, Military and Veteran Success, and Extended Studies. These units all function as

part of a larger unit to reach, inform, and support potential, incoming and current students at

CSU Pueblo.

The division of Enrollment Management is committed to supporting the university as a

comprehensive provider of services to prospective and current students, parents of students,

and past students. With this, Enrollment Management functions to support our diverse

student population and the barriers they may face while attaining their education.

Description of Job

This position will report directly to the Executive Director of Admissions and will work

alongside each of the respective Enrollment Management units, as well as other campus

entities, like TriO, Student Affairs and the Office of DEI to facilitate support of students in

the K-12 populations. This position will be focused on the oversight and strategic

implementation of outreach in our local and regional areas. This will include oversight of

the Track Centers and the Transfer Centers, targeting support efforts of first generation,

low-income and underrepresented students in the elementary, middle, and high schools

to develop a college-going mindset.

The Student Outreach and Support Specialist will work directly with feeder elementary

and middle schools to support a college going culture, developing outreach and

implementing efforts with feeder schools. Additionally, this position will create and

execute special events, plan strategic outreach initiatives, and will work directly with high

school and community college students via the Track and Transfer Centers, including but

not limited to facilitating campus tours, conducting informational sessions around access

and financial aid, and fostering career and workforce partnerships and events that drive

students to higher education opportunities.

Once a student is admitted to CSU Pueblo, a primary responsibility of this position will be

to facilitate warm handoffs and effective on-boarding for the targeted low-income, first

generation, and underrepresented student population to identify and connect support

structures the student could benefit from and will specifically work on meeting outcomes

of inclusion and belonging. This will include but not be limited to technology support, connecting students directly with academic departments and student support services, and providing connection and guidance on experiential learning and career-related

opportunities. This position is funded through Sept. 30, 2025, by a Title 5 grant.

Primary Duties

  • Supervise and improve outreach efforts in southern Colorado region to improve

knowledge of postsecondary options and improve the college-going culture.

  • Oversee efforts and activity of University Track Centers and Transfer Centers

and their Coordinators, providing leadership to plan and execute outreach and

informational events, communications, partnerships, and to foster relationships

with colleagues at and around these sites.

  • Generate outreach efforts that target parents and community members.

Support both digital and physical outreach efforts around affordability,

scholarship opportunities, effective timelines, and pathways to career

outcomes.

  • Contact, connect, and support newly deposited and enrolled students who

come to CSU Pueblo through the Track and Transfer Centers, and any other

identified first generation, low-income, and/or underrepresented student.

  • Provide connection and guidance regarding student support services such as

admissions, advising, financial aid, TRiO programs, student support and

advocacy, the counseling and wellness centers, academic departments,

military and veteran success, and others as needed.

  • Collect and report data around numbers of students and parents impacted,

events executed, digital impressions, email open rates, SMS outreach

performance, response rates, application completion, FAFSA completion,

campus visits, enrollment, and retention.

  • Support high school concurrent enrollment efforts to improve early credit

earning and graduation potential. Extend outreach efforts beyond high schools

into middle and elementary schools across the region to improve knowledge of

postsecondary options, self-assurance within students that higher education is

a possibility for them and that they are, indeed, college material.

Salary Range

$55,000 - $58,000

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution

  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Experience working with diverse students

  • Experience in a position or activity that required excellent verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate degree from an accredited institution

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English

  • Experience with Southern Colorado communities

  • Knowledge of K-14 student populations

  • Knowledge of rural communities
