Under limited supervision the Contracts Administrator – Senior performs a variety of specialized responsibilities in the administration of government and commercial contracts. Employees in this job class provide customer service, pricing acceptance, monitoring, and contract performance. This job requires knowledge of service agreements and contract administration procedures, the skills to read and interpret contract documents, and ability to provide high quality customer service.


  1. *Collaborates with Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and customers to administer the terms of Government and commercial contracts, as well as provide and support guidance for contractual issues.

    • Conducts contract coordination and negotiations with contracting activities individually or in collaboration with VP's, Directors, General Managers or other designated corporate owners,
    • Participates in contract reviews to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies and company objectives.
  2. *Creates and administers service agreements for customers, monitors for renewal, and initiates renewal and re-pricing processes.

  3. *Administers Government contracts and manages the renewal or 5-year pricing process. Researches historical data and current pricing support, processes contract modifications for each contracts and maintains files.

  4. *Compiles and tracks requests for equitable adjustments through resolution.

  5. *Coordinates and manages customer complaints; works with Managers or Vice Presidents to gather and document information; researches contractual issues, terms and conditions and ultimately negotiates a resolution within the terms of the contract that it is beneficial to all parties.

    • Researches and resolves customer billing questions, complaints, invoicing errors, and requests for adjustments and verifications. Processes claims or adjustments when determined to be appropriate.
    • Participates in key initiatives by attending conference calls, proposals and general correspondence for contract initiatives, participates in special studies, investigations and analyses.
    • Assists in preparing and interpreting contract documents.
    • Process request for subcontractors from contract sites, coordinate with the legal department. Helps in the management and tracking of subcontracting plans at individual contract sites.
    • Monitors Contract Availability of funds by contract on a monthly basis and notifies when the dollar amounts are approaching the established thresholds.
    • Monitors Contract Deliverables to assure all are delivered timely and in compliance with contract requirements.
    • Owns all aspects of contract administration, from contract start to contract closeout activities.
  6. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Three or more years' detailed hands on experience in federal/commercial contracts administration;

  • Knowledge of contracting processes and contract issues, regulations and terms and conditions;

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; to make presentations and respond to inquiries by management, team, vendors and/or customers;

  • Human relation skills to build effective relationships with team and internal customers;

  • Intermediate to advanced computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;

  • Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation;

  • Mathematical skills to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations;

  • Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of business problems;

  • Demonstrated customer service, common sense, problem solving and analytical skills;

  • Flexibility to respond to changing work priorities and handle numerous projects at the same time.


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field; or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience.

Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise.Employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week.
