Equifax, Inc. Operations Data Compliance Auditor - J00158341 in St. Louis, Missouri

The Operations Data Compliance Auditor will define the compliance framework and partner with the Leadership team to identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The KPIs will align with key company compliance objectives, adherence to FCRA guidelines, quality assurance, and service levels.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as main point of contact for internal/external audits to support EWS Operations regarding day to day regulatory compliance - 50%
    • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely audit information is logged and reported to Management, Legal, Compliance and Security
    • Develop, implement and maintain compliance of quality control programs while conducting audits, monitoring trending analytics, and reporting out to internal and external stakeholders
    • Support the adoption of a strong culture of compliance through ensuring implementation of awareness, training, risk and other relevant processes
    • Familiarity with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other regulations applicable to consumer reporting agencies
  • Review company compliance policies and ensure we adhere with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) guidelines - 35%
    • Work closely with internal compliance and audit teams to align EWS compliance requirements with enterprise standards
    • Support audit and regulatory engagements, compliance investigations, assurance activities and compliance management activities as required
    • Lead the resolution of compliance related incident, investigation and issue reviews for the designated organization(s) and escalation of concerns in accordance with compliance management and business ethics / conduct processes
  • Partner with product and technical teams to understand changes to processes, new/existing products, and system enhancements to adjust audit requirements accordingly - 10%
  • Help determine areas of opportunities related to policy, procedures, technology and data furnishers through KPIs
  • Supports compliance across Operations and manage documentation related to regulatory policies and procedures - 5%

What experience you need

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or related field
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in a compliance environment or similar work experience
  • 3 years of lead-auditor or similar experience leading and directing professional staff; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint required with an ability to learn proprietary systems

  • Exceptional written communications skills are a must; candidate needs to be able to write responses and communications to regulators leveraging professional and industry language and the ability to know what level of detail to provide to regulators/auditors
  • Has an ability to efficiently remove obstacles and drive priority of compliance solutions in an environment with limited resources
  • Demonstrate a customer/consumer-focus, be results and detail-oriented, and possesses the ability to effectively handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to function independently and provide informal leadership to others
  • Complex problem-solving skills that take a broad perspective while finding innovative approaches to solutions
  • Thoughtful decision making that may at times be guided by policy, but may at times be non-standard or not fit into the exact parameters of policy and require risk asse sment and quick thinking
  • Skills in working cross functionally, with an ability to influence others to adopt new ways of thinking and processing work
  • Process improvement and/or LEAN experience is a plus
