The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000 Compensation will be determined based on several factors including but not limited to skill set, years of experience, and the employee's geographic location.

Responsibilities

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

**No Holidays or Weekends Required

Job Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Directly assists Surgery Center Director in the development of procedure and exam protocols for the Refractive Surgery Center.

• Monitor procedures performed at the Refractive Surgery Center and update metrics developed by the Refractive Surgery Center Director.

• Plan and coordinate the surgery schedule of the Refractive Surgery Center in conjunction with the availability of the physicians.

• Provide advice and assistance to management officials on activities affecting assigned tasks and workload of the Laser Refractive Surgery Center.

• Present and explain current or new surgical/clinical policies, procedures, instructions, regulations, and/or recommendations to patients and staff.

• Coordinate refractive services with co-managing physicians to ensure appropriate pre- and post­ operative patient care.

• Prepare computer templates and schedules for clinic appointments and surgical procedures; set up and maintain all monthly and master schedules through the Composite Health Care System (CHCS).

• Monitor compliance at the Laser Refractive Surgery Center with hospital infection control and safety standards and report discrepancies Surgery Center Director.

• Monitor equipment inventory and maintenance cycles. Monitor surgical supply and non-medical supply levels for the Laser Refractive Surgery Center and utilize the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system to replenish stock levels. Successfully complete required training for the care and operation of specialized refractive surgery equipment to include but not limited to an excimer laser, femtosecond laser, and wave front scanning systems within one month of employment.

• Orient newly assigned personnel in operating room policies and clinic procedures in accordance with Air Force policy and guidelines.

• Report training statistics on a quarterly basis to the Surgery Center Director.

• Perform administrative duties as required to support the Laser Refractive Surgery Center.

• Travel to attend the Air Force Corneal Refractive Surgery Symposium on a yearly basis.

• Receive, Review & Processes all incoming emailed, faxed or mailedapplications.

• Manages organization emails

• Schedules surgeries, review patients charts prior to surgery for accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates Degree or Minimum of 7 Years in Related Field

  • Experience: At least 7 cumulative years' experience required including at least 5 years' experience in a refractive surgery clinic (LASIK Center) and at least 3 years of managerial experience with responsibilities demonstrating capacity to fulfill requirements as described in Type of Work.

  • Life Support Certification: Have and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Security: Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
