PeaceHealth is seeking a Patient Account Coordinator Home & Community for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.70 – $34.04. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Provides dedicated expert focus on insurance, reimbursement, account corrections, authorizations, and other financial issues to maximize financial stability of PeaceHealth home health and/or hospice programs.

DETAILS OF THE POSITION:

  • Verifies coverage and ensures all insurance requirements are met.

  • Obtains insurance authorizations. Ensures insurance carrier (including Medicare) documentation requirements are met and documentation is filed in patient’s medical record. Completes in a timely manner per insurance coverage requirements.

  • Identifies and evaluates how to maximize the patient’s health insurance benefits. Ensure all demographic, insurance and eligibility information obtained are up to date.

  • Efficiently manages correspondence with patients, physicians, specialists, clinicians, and insurance companies. Documents pertinent information in medical record. Ensures practitioners are following standardized guidelines as recommended by Home & Community Services.

  • Performs work in accordance with regulatory requirements, policies/procedures and departmental standards in regard to HIPAA and other government requirements. Supports proper billing procedures while ensuring privacy guidelines are implemented and carried out.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 3 years of experience working in insurance in a medical related field, or other related experience

  • Knowledge of Hospice Medicare regulations and Home Health insurance regulations.

  • Ability to work from home in a secure environment free of distractions with appropriate high-speed connectivity.

  • Proficient use of computer including MS Office applications.

  • Must be able to manage conflict effectively and professionally.

  • Excellent time management skills, with an emphasis on meeting time sensitive deadlines.
